3rd Workshop on Proficiency Testing in Analytical Chemistry,
Microbiology and Laboratory Medicine
(24), 25 - 26, (27) September 2000, Boras/Gothenburg, Sweden


This EURACHEM-EQALM workshop addresses current practice, problems and future directions for proficiency testing (PT) in analytical chemistry, microbiology and laboratory medicine. The workshop targets especially organisers of PT schemes, technical assessors, QA managers and accreditation bodies. Lectures and working group tasks will highlight international harmonisation of PT/EQA schemes, the use of PT in the accreditation process, the implementation of the uncertainty concept into PT/EQA schemes, accreditation of PT/EQA schemes, assigned values and target values for satisfactory performance, international guidelines and documents, technical and logistical challenges, and PT from the customers' view. Key lectures will be given by Alan Squirrell (ILAC), Jytte Molin Christensen (AMI), Keith Jewell (CCFRA), Jean-Claude Libeer (IPH), Leopoldo Cortez (EA), Manfred Golze (BAM), Paul De Bièvre (IRMM), Adriaan Van der Veen (NMi-VSL). Additional contributions only in written form. Participation limited to 200.
