Eurachem Workshop: Key Quality Assurance Challenges for Analytical Measurements (2011)

Venue and Date

National University of Science and Technology “NITU MISIS”, Moscow, from 23 to 27 May 2011

Scope

StBasils cathedral, Moscow The results from the chemical analysis of substances and materials impact on many areas, including manufacturing, trade, health and the environment. In order to obtain accurate, reliable and stable analytical results it is essential to implement suitable quality assurance procedures for analytical measurements. Ensuring the quality of analytical measurements requires knowledge of topics such as method validation, metrological traceability, measurement uncertainty, standardization and quality management. The Workshop, run in conjunction with the EURACHEM General Assembly, included presentations and practical exercises on these key issues, led by leading scientists from Europe and Russia.

Topics covered

  • Overview of quality management
  • Flexible scope of accreditation
  • Introduction to method validation
  • Key validation parameters
  • Implementing the requirements of ISO/IEC 17043
  • Measurement uncertainty estimation: Basic rules and using validation data
  • The Eura?hem measurement uncertainty guide on uncertainty from sampling
  • Achieving traceability in chemical measurements
  • Role of CRMs in achieving traceability
